Before I was a marketer, I was an athlete. Four years competing as a Division I rower at Sacramento State taught me things no classroom could: how to perform under pressure, how to trust a team, how to show up when it's hard, and how to keep going when results take time. I was named Most Inspirational Athlete and earned All-Conference honors. More importantly, I learned what it means to be someone people can count on.
Competing at the Division I level, Sacramento State Rowing.
That mindset followed me into marketing. I started in sports media, producing content for NCAA athletic programs, learning how to tell athlete stories in ways that moved people. I built campaigns, managed game-day media, and discovered something important: great content starts with understanding people deeply.
"The best content doesn't just inform. It makes you feel something."
From there I moved into brand strategy and content production in the real estate and escrow world, where I learned to translate complex, unfamiliar topics into messaging that felt human, approachable, and trustworthy. That work made me the go-to resource for agents across San Diego, helping them rethink their brand, content, and approach so they could build a stronger online presence, stay top of mind, and generate real leads.
Every chapter has looked different, but the thread running through all of it was the same: connecting the right people to the right stories and making sure those stories land. Along the way I also founded CBW Next Gen, an invitation-only professional development group for up-and-coming Coldwell Banker West agents focused on AI, technology, and content strategy, because I believe in building community around the people and spaces I care about.
That instinct is what became SWJ Creative: find the gap, build the bridge, bring people together. Whether it's a brand looking for the right creative direction, a creator who needs a strategic partner, or an organization trying to connect with a new audience, that's the work I was built for.
